Ramon Henderson, a junior safety, and Kevin Bauman, a junior tight end, have been ruled out of Notre Dame’s game against North Carolina today, the program stated.
Henderson will miss the game due to an injured ankle, and Bauman will be out with a knee ailment he picked up during the week.
The team’s No. 2 tight end is a junior who has three catches for 44 yards on the year. Expect to see more of Eli Raridon, Holden Staes, and possibly junior Cane Berrong, who was recently cleared for full participation after suffering a knee injury last fall, now that Bauman is out of the lineup.
Raridon has recently been playing more and more, so he ought to be in a position to have a much bigger impact versus the Tar Heels.
Henderson has played a significant role in the safety rotation all season, recording eight tackles and a half-sack so far. Expect to see more of the California native’s classmate Xavier Watts, who was a member of a five-man rotational safety group that also included starters Brandon Joseph and DJ Brown, fifth-year senior Houston Griffith, and Henderson.
