According to officials, a 61-year-old EMS lieutenant was fatally stabbed in Astoria on Thursday afternoon, September 29.
Police sources told QNS that the lieutenant, whose identity has not been made public, reportedly perished as a result of the event. A male suspect is being held by police, the source continued.
Authorities claim that at around 2:20 p.m., the event took place at 20th Avenue and Steinway Street in Astoria, inside the 114th Precinct. According to reports, the lieutenant was stabbed while he assisted the patient. Police sources were unable to immediately corroborate details of the event with QNS, despite The Daily News’s claim that “an emotionally disturbed cousin of the patient stabbed her many times in the neck.”
FDNY did not react to QNS’s request for comment right away.
