A Reading teen was abducted from her home early on Wednesday but is now safe. The abductor is a 47-year-old man. Officials from Reading talked on Wednesday night about the Janae Kalia-Henry, 13, who was the subject of an Amber Alert. Once Henry was located to be secure, the warning was terminated.
Dwayne Taylor, 47, allegedly kidnapped Henry from her home in the 500 block of South Court at around 2:00 a.m. on Wednesday, according to Chief Tornielli.
Henry was discovered in New York City unharmed. Chief Tornielli reported that Taylor was apprehended in Brooklyn on Wednesday afternoon after working with the NYPD and the FBI. In New York, Taylor is detained on state-level accusations.
Tornielli reported that Henry did not seem to require medical attention and was going back to her house to be with her family.
The authorities stated that they were still looking into Henry’s kidnapping. The adolescent and Taylor had some sort of relationship, according to the police.
