According to coach Todd Bowles on Thursday, Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady will be away from the club for a while to “deal with some personal stuff.” Brady’s absence was discussed beforehand, according to Bowles, and he will be back after the preseason game against the Tennessee Titans on August 20 of the following week.
Brady won’t be participating in Saturday’s preseason opener against the Miami Dolphins, according to an earlier statement from Bowles.
On August 3 — his previously scheduled personal day and his 45th birthday — and last Friday, Brady received excused absences. Teamwide, the Buccaneers had last Thursday off.
Because of Brady’s background and work ethic, according to Bowles, he did not worry about lost time.
Even though Brady has worked to develop connection with new colleagues like wide receivers Julio Jones and Russell Gage and tight end Kyle Rudolph, he said he doesn’t think it will hinder the offense’s development.
