After controversially dating for approximately three years, Zach Braff and Florence Pugh have finally their broken up. The 26-year-old actor revealed to Harper’s Bazaar that the couple, who had kept their affair mostly under wraps from the beginning, had quietly ended it earlier this year.
“We’ve been trying to do this separation without the world knowing, because it’s been a relationship that everybody has an opinion on,” she said. “We just felt something like this would really do us the benefit of not having millions of people telling us how happy they are that we’re not together. So we’ve done that. I automatically get a lumpy throat when I talk about it.”
The “Black Widow” actress also commented on the media attention her relationship with Braff, particularly in light of their 21-year age difference. Braff, who is 47, wished Pugh a happy birthday on Instagram earlier this year.
Florence Pugh was pushed to defend her relationship with the “Scrubs” actor in 2020 when she shared a picture of him in celebration of his 45th birthday.
Pugh claimed that the negative feedback regarding their connection started pouring in shortly after she posted the picture. In response to criticism, she posted a three-minute video on YouTube.
Since 2019, there have been links between Zach Braff, 47, and Pugh, 26. Although they never exchanged wedding rings, Pugh has defended the relationship despite a 20-year age difference.
Pugh, who was 24 at the time, further demonstrated her adult status by stating that she had been employed since she was 17 and had begun paying taxes at the age of 18.
Pugh would not be making this her first social media defense. She responded to skeptics last month over the sheer, hot pink tulle dress by Italian label Valentino that she wore to Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week while going bra-free and revealing her breasts through the gossamer fabric.
In the interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Pugh expressed her continued excitement for the March 2023 release of “A Good Person,” one of her upcoming movies for which Braff authored the screenplay.
Along with Harry Styles, Chris Pine, Gemma Chan, and KiKi Layne, Pugh also stars in the upcoming psychological thriller “Don’t Worry Darling,” which hits theaters on September 2.
At CinemaCon in April, the film’s director Olivia Wilde debuted a seductive first trailer and complimented Pugh’s performance.
