On Friday, Brock Lesnar was supposed to make his WWE SmackDown comeback, but he reportedly departed the show as soon as Vince McMahon announced his retirement.

Brock Lesnar had been expected to make his comeback to WWE SmackDown on Friday night as a lead-up to next week’s massive SummerSlam event.

For him to show up and begin to completely prepare for yet another match with Roman Reigns was a significant moment.

However, CEO and Chairman Vince McMahon’s retirement at the age of 77 shocked the WWE world on Friday afternoon. And for now, it appears it might have an impact on Lesnar’s participation in SmackDown.

After learning of Vince McMahon’s retirement, Brock Lesnar did indeed leave the taping, even going as far as to exit the building, according to a fresh report from Fightful Select. Lesnar’s anticipated participation was uncertain, therefore WWE decided to remove him from their advertising.

Lesnar was supposedly left out of the revised script for the evening as a result of his walkout.

At the very end of the broadcast, Lesnar did make an appearance and attacked Theory. Frightful’s report goes on to say that, “… things blew over, and Lesnar returned.”

In a Last Man Standing bout at next Saturday’s SummerSlam, Lesnar will face Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE title. This will be Lesnar’s first competition since Reigns defeated him for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 38 in April.
