After several conflicts started inside the theme park on Saturday night, Knott’s Berry Farm was forced to close early.

At around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, police from the Buena Park Police Department and Knott’s Berry Farm security were alerted to reports of many fights occurring in the park.

A CBSLA employee who was in the park on Saturday night, Annette Duran, recalled seeing numerous fights followed by stampedes of park visitors attempting to avoid them.

A report of gunfire being heard during the clashes was made, according to Buena Park PD, but they noted that they had not yet discovered any proof of it.

Police questioned a number of people, including victims who had non-life-threatening injuries, although it is yet unclear whether any arrests have been made.

In an issued statement, the park blamed altercations between teens as the cause of the commotion and closure.

“The safety of Knott’s Berry Farm’s guests and associates is always our top priority. On Saturday evening, the decision was made to close the park 3 hours early due to unruly behaviour and altercations involving a number of teenagers.”

“This behavior did not align with our park’s values, and was not the experience we want any guest to have while visiting Knott’s Berry Farm.”
