It is alleged that producer Randall Emmett offered roles in exchange for sexual favors.
The 51-year-old Emmett is accused of offering women film roles in exchange for sexual favors and her silence over intimate encounters with him, according to a lengthy article published Thursday by the Los Angeles Times.
The Times quotes a letter that Gloria Allred wrote on behalf of a 23-year-old actress who claimed Emmett texted her after she inquired about whether or not she had been cast in one of his projects, saying, “One day of work and u need to f—-me [sic] sweetheart.”
In the letter, dated Oct. 5, 2021, Allred claimed that her client “would have to perform sexual favors” for the producer to receive acting work. The letter was addressed to Emmett.
Sallie Hofmeister, a representative for Emmett, told PEOPLE that her client, Allred’s client, “staunchly denies the allegations dating back to 2012.”
The Times said that according to Allred’s letter, her client complied with his alleged instructions to “advance her career” and didn’t want to “rage a prominent producer in the industry.”
The Times stated that Emmett and Allred’s client agreed to a settlement in which she would get around $200,000 over about two years. According to the Times, the producer denied this.
