Response from Daryl Morey to P.J. Tucker and Danuel House Signings
On Wednesday night, the Philadelphia 76ers made official the signing of two new players. P.J. Tucker, a former player for the Miami Heat, and Danuel House, a former player for the Houston Rockets, have joined the Sixers, as was to be expected.
Terms of deals were kept confidential, per team policy, according to a team announcement. Tucker’s contract, though, is reportedly for $33.2 million over three years. House, meanwhile, agreed to a two-year, $8.5 million contract, according to Philadelphia Inquirer.
As former members of the Houston Rockets, Tucker and House are both familiar with the Sixers’ organization. In charge of Houston’s front office during House’s tenure with the Rockets from 2018 to 2020 was Sixers President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey.

As former members of the Houston Rockets, Tucker and House are both familiar with the Sixers’ organization. In charge of Houston’s front office during House’s tenure with the Rockets from 2018 to 2020 was Sixers President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey.
The season after Morey left the team and signed with the Sixers, Tucker arrived in Houston early and played for the Rockets from 2017 to 2021.
Morey allegedly tried to trade for Tucker during the 2020–2021 NBA season. The veteran was nonetheless dispatched by Houston to join the Milwaukee Bucks. Two offseasons later, and the reunion is finally taking place.
While House was a shocking signing when the market opened last week, Tucker was connected to the Sixers in the weeks before free agency. When House became a free agent during the previous season, the Sixers were mentioned about him. He is currently listed on the roster.
