You can now listen to Beyoncé’s long-awaited seventh studio album, Renaissance.
After the famous visual album Lemonade, the 16-song LP is her first solo effort in six years. Renaissance is a musical development for the world superstar, according to critics.
Grace Jones, Tems, and BEAM contribute guest appearances to Renaissance, which also boasts a number of credits from influential musicians like The-Dream, producer Mike Dean, and features from Drake and Raphael Saadiq. The-Dream also worked with producer Mike Dean on the smash hit “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It),” among other megahits.
Beyonce wrote on her website, “This three act project was recorded over three years during the pandemic. A time to be still but also a time I found to be the most creative,” an indication that Renaissance is the first part of the aforementioned trio.
Few facts about the album were made public more than a week before it was set to be released, in classic Bey fashion. After deleting profile images from all of her social media profiles, she used social media to inform the public about the project, including its official announcement.
Beyonce released “BREAK MY SOUL,” an upbeat song with dance music overtones last month. It features Big Freedia and samples Robin S’ 1990 diva house classic “Show Me Love.”
