Evidence of coordination between far-right groups and Trump supporters can be seen in a Jan. 6 Capitol attack panel

The House select committee looking into the Capitol attack attempted to argue on Tuesday that far-right organizations and the effort to rig the 2020 presidential election are inextricably linked, describing the mobilization of extremist groups after then-President Trump sent a tweet on December 19, 2020, encouraging supporters to protest in Washington, D.C., on January 6.

Vice Chair Liz Cheney stated that Trump had made an effort to get in touch with a witness who had not yet testified in the committee’s public hearings near the end of its seventh hearing looking into the uprising. She claimed the somebody didn’t pick up the phone but instead informed their attorney, who then informed the committee.

According to a source familiar with the planning but not authorized to comment publicly before the committee makes an official statement, the committee intends to convene its eighth hearing on Thursday, July 21, at 8 p.m. The focus of the hearing, according to the committee, will be on Trump’s inaction to halt the attack on the Capitol.
