Although the game doesn’t do the best job of describing how it all works, Digimon Survive emphasizes the importance of Digivolution.
The Digimon series has its own sort of evolution, much like the Pokemon franchise to which it is sometimes likened. Digimon can change into entirely new forms thanks to the process of “Digivolution,” which frequently results in significant increases in power levels.
This mechanic is present in Digimon Survive as well, perhaps unsurprisingly, albeit it differs slightly from that found in some of the older Digimon games.
In Digimon Survive, there are two ways to Digivolve a Digimon, neither of which are available to players straight away.
But as they progress through the main plot, they’ll progressively have access to stronger forms. Some of these are earned through the use of specialized evolution items, while others are gained during intense combat as a result of the close link that the Digimon and its human share.
Ways To Digivolve In Digimon Survive
Depending on the kind of Digimon that players are utilizing, a Digimon will evolve in a specific way. As part of the main plot, Agumon, Falcomon, Labramon, and the other Digimon who automatically befriend the party will Digivolve.
Players can then choose their Digivolved forms in battle for a predetermined amount of SP. Agumon’s forms are unlocked in accordance with the decisions players make during gameplay, with the player’s Karma influencing the Digimon’s evolution path.
The primary party Digimon are somewhat different from the Digimon made friends with during Free Battles in that their ability to Digivolve is dependent on the use of goods.
Players must carefully choose how to employ their evolution items because they won’t revert to their original forms after evolving. This also applies to Guilmon, who players can download if they buy Digimon Survive during the first 30 days of its release.
At the conclusion of Part 1, once Agumon has Digivolved for the first time, players will be able to develop their free battle Digimon for the first time. Unfortunately, they won’t likely receive their first evolution item until the final battle with Fangmon, by which time Falcomon and Labramon will have also unlocked their initial Digivolution forms.
It’s also important to remember that some Digimon can evolve into forms that can befriend other creatures (like Gotsumon, which can Digivolve into Numemon), while others share Digivolutions with the primary party Digimon (for example, like Falcomon, Biyomon can Digivolve into Diatrymon).
Players should keep this in mind so they don’t waste Mature Enlightenment Slabs or other evolution items. Digimon Survive has a list of Digimon that can befriended.
