A 22-year-old man has been detained by Danish police in connection with a fatal gunshot at a mall in Copenhagen.
Although the motivation was not evident, police head Soeren Thomassen said he could not rule out an “act of terrorism”.
Several persons were murdered in the shooting on Sunday, according to Mr. Thomassen, who added that it was still too early to give precise numbers.
Shoppers reportedly panicked when shots sounded out inside the Field’s mall in the city’s south, according to eyewitnesses.
Emilie Jeppesen stated to the newspaper Jyllands-Posten: “You were unaware of what was taking place. All of a sudden, everything was in complete disarray.”
Mahdi Al-Wazni, another witness, informed TV2 that the shooter had been carrying a “hunting rifle.”
