American political analyst and commentator on the PBS ‘Newshour’, Mark Shield is dead at the age of 85.
The death of Shields who died at his home in Chevy Chase, Maryland, was confirmed by his spokesman identified as Nick Massella who also disclosed that the deceased died as a result of kidney failure.
Shields was well known for his “encyclopedic knowledge of American politics, his sense of humor and mainly his big heart,” wrote Judy Woodruff, the anchor and managing editor of NewsHour, in a tweet announcing his death.
