On Horseback, Princes William And Charles Arrive At The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

In full military garb, Prince William and Prince Charles made a dramatic appearance at the Trooping the Colour procession on Thursday.

The father-son duo went into Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebration on horseback, dressed in matching red uniforms and black hats, accompanied by the 96-year-old monarch’s daughter, Princess Anne.

The Duke of Cambridge, 39, the Prince of Wales, 73, and Princess Royal, 71, were the first colonels of the Welsh Guards, Irish Guards, and Blues and Royals to accept the Trooping the Colour salute.

The salute was generally given to the Queen, but this time it was given to the King.

At the end of the parade, the sovereign will receive a salute from the Buckingham Palace balcony.

The Queen, who has been having mobility problems, did not travel with the rest of the royal family in automobiles and carriages.

Kate Middleton, William’s wife, waved from her carriage while dressed in a white Alexander McQueen coat dress. Camilla Parker Bowles and her three children sat alongside the Duchess of Cambridge, 40.
