Dallas Mavericks Improve Their Lineup By Acquiring A Big Man Wood, Christian

Imagine the following starting lineup for the Dallas Mavericks next season: Christian Wood, a new big man, Luka Doncic, Jalen Brunson, Spencer Dinwiddie, and Dwight Powell.

Rumors are going around the NBA that the Mavericks traded a draft selection and four players to the Houston Rockets for forwarding/center Christian Wood, giving Luka Doncic and company some much-needed post help.

The Mavericks are exchanging the young and gifted Wood from the Rockets for the No. 26 overall choice in the 2022 draft, Boban Marjanovic, Sterling Brown, Trey Burke, and Marquese Chriss. It appears that this agreement won’t become effective until after the NBA Draft.

The big man, who is 26 years old, has five years of NBA experience. He has played for the 76ers, Hornets, Bucks, Pelicans, Pistons, and Rockets, among other teams. Wood averaged roughly 18 points, 10 rebounds, and more than 2 assists per game in Houston during the 2021–22 season.
