Lil Rel Howery is a movie star who is a comedian, actor, writer, and producer.

His performance as TSA agent Rod Williams in Jordan Peele’s Oscar-winning instant classic Get Out (2017) catapulted Howery to stardom.

His ability to blend humour and honour struck such a chord with audiences that Howery became not only a breakout star but a cultural icon.

Winner of the MTV Movie & Television Awards for Best Comedic Performance in a Movie, nominated for an IMAGE Award for Best Supporting Actor, and crowned Bernie Mac Comedy King of the Year, Howery is experiencing success like few others in Hollywood history.

As his career progressed, Howery played the lead in the film Uncle Drew and appears as Quentin alongside Issa Rae in the fearlessly funny HBO smash comedy series, Insecure.

Lil Rel Howery set out to make the world laugh when he was eleven years old.

With influential comedians such as Eddie Murphy, Martin Lawrence, and Louie Anderson in their prime, Lil Rel spent the early 1990s watching classic shows such as Def Comedy Jam and Raw.

He was studying and mastering the art of comedy while other young adolescents in his West Side Chicago neighbourhood were doing typical adolescent things.

From a kid seeking comedy clubs to perform, Lil Rel has become a comedian, actor, and writer, as well as a national star.

Lil Rel wanted much more than to tell jokes to his family and loved ones as a teen.

He was immediately drawn to aspects of entertainment production and performance. At 17, Lil Rel created original comedic scenes for one of the most critical audiences he’d ever face: his high school peers.

His impact was undeniable after appearing in the school play and effortlessly delivering side-cramping laughs. Lil Rel was elated after his peers and teachers enthusiastically approved of him.

After graduating from high school, Lil Rel set out in search of a comedy club where he could perform.

He found it at The Lion’s Den on Chicago’s East Side. He was too young to get in, so he arrived earlier than most in the hopes that the owner would bend the rules. He did.

Lil Rel performed his comedic routine in confidence. The young star became an instant hit, becoming a weekly regular at The Lion’s Den before going on to become one of Chicago’s most prominent comedians and hosts at a plethora of comedy clubs and showcases.

Lil Rel’s opportunities grew in tandem with his fan base. In 2001, he received his first paid television spot after submitting a performance tape to BET’s Comic View casting department.

He was invited to perform again the following season after proving himself to be a natural with an undeniable stage presence.

The exposure catapulted him to the next stage of his career at a time when Comic View was at its peak.

Lil Rel Howery became a nationally featured comedian by earning the respect of powerful show executives through his hilarious story-telling and knowledgeable off-stage demeanour.

Lil Rel Howery has been a welcome guest in inner-city homes for years, with small appearances like his national film debut in MGM Studio’s “Barbershop 2” and featured roles in urban hits like TV One’s “Bill Bellamy’s: Who Got Jokes” and HBO’s “Diddy’s Bad Boys of Comedy.”

NBC’s Last Comic Standing was one of Lil Rel Howery’s most important television appearances. Though he did not win the competition, his memorable characters (including the infamous “neighborhood hoodrat”) were well received by at-home viewers.

His crossover appeal landed him a spot on NBC’s Diversity Showcase, as well as the “Just for Laughs Chicago Festival,” his hometown’s second-largest comedy experience.

The Lil Rel Company, Lil Rel’s first venture, was launched in 2009. The Lil Rel Company was founded as a holding company for his stand-up comedy material.

It now houses the entire Lil Rel brand. Lil Rel Howery continues to tour the country, performing at comedy clubs, showcases, and colleges.

He made an appearance on Comedy Central’s “Russell Simmons Presents: Stand-up at the El Rey” in July 2010. “I Know You Hear Me, But Are You Listening,” his new CD, is available on iTunes.

Lil Rel co-starred as Jerrod Carmichael’s brother “Bobby” in the critically acclaimed weekly primetime NBC comedy series The Carmichael Show, alongside Loretta Devine and David Alan Grier.

Lil Rel Howery also executive-produced, wrote, and starred in the TruTV sketch comedy show Friends of the People, which was described as “gleefully absurd” by the Chicago Sun Times.

RELevent, Rel’s first hour-long standup special, premiered on Comedy Central two years ago.

Kevin Hart executive produced the hour, which Vulture named one of “the 10 Best Stand-Up Specials of 2015.”

RELevent quickly became a must-see on Netflix after making the switch.

Millions were reintroduced to Howery’s comedy, which combined the power of who he is with what he does. RELevent is genuine and demonstrates Rel’s enthralling storytelling style.

Lil Rel Howery is one of comedy’s finest because of his uncanny ability to transport audiences into his hilarious world of loveable and outrageously fleshed-out characters.

In the comedic picture Free Guy, Lil Rey Howery co-starred with Ryan Reynolds. Buddy, a security guard, was his character.

Free Guy tells the story of a bank teller who realizes he is a non-player character in a massively multiplayer online game and teams up with a player to gather evidence that a gaming company’s CEO stole the player’s game’s source code.
