David Filo Biography

David Filo is a business mogul and technologist. He founded Yahoo in 1994, alongside fellow Stanford University student, Jerry Yang.

His work as a key technologist saw him directing the technical operations aligned with the company’s global network of Web properties. He is reported to have helped with positioning Yahoo! as one of the world’s most trafficked websites.

David is an alumnus of Tulane University, where he obtained a BSc in computer  engineering. He also embarked on the journey of acquiring a master’s degree in Electrical engineering from Stanford University.

However, he dropped out of the PhD program at Stanford University to focus on building Yahoo!

David is married to former journalism and photography teacher, Angela Buenning Filo. Angela Filo is currently a board member of the Stanford University Board of Trustees.
