Ted Hankey, the former world darts champion, has been sentenced to two years in prison for a sexual assault caught on tape.

Hankey, 54, of Berry Hill, Stoke-on-Trent, pinned down the young woman and sexually abused her with an “air of entitlement,” according to Chester Crown Court.

At a previous hearing, he admitted to the attack in Crewe on September 10th.

The Count, a darts player, was the BDO world champion in 2000 and 2009.

The victim was earlier estimated to be between the ages of 16 and 18.

Hankey, a father of three, brushed away tears with a tissue as he was convicted for showing “more self-pity than regret.”

If the attack had not been caught on camera, Judge Steven Everett, Recorder of Chester, stated Hankey would have “denied it to the last end.”

After the courtroom had been cleared of the public and press, the footage was shown to the judge.

Hankey’s wife is divorcing him, and his children do not want to see him, according to the court.

When he was first arrested, he “flatly denied” any involvement and “expressed incredulity” at the claim.

When investigators told him the incident had been caught on camera, he stopped talking and refused to answer any more questions, according to the court.
