Marvel Studios’ Daredevil Is Being Developed For Disney Plus

Since Netflix canceled Daredevil shortly after season 3 premiered in the autumn of 2018, fans have been clamoring for more. Disney Plus appears to have heeded the public outcry.

Because the Marvel Netflix programs have now been added to the streaming site, Charlie Cox appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home as Matt Murdock, and Vincent D’Onofrio reprised his role as Kingpin in Hawkeye. So it seemed just a matter of time until Disney brought back the phenomenally acclaimed Daredevil series. It appears that they are now.

Marvel Studios has begun work on a new Daredevil series for the Disney Plus streaming service, according to Variety. There isn’t any information about the show yet, but it will be written and produced by Matt Corman and Chris Ord, who co-created the show Covert Affairs with Piper Perabo from 2010 to 2014. Disney has yet to confirm any of these details. According to reports, neither Cox nor D’Onofrio will reprise their roles from the Netflix series, but considering their presence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it’s a foregone conclusion. This raises the question of whether Elden Henson will reprise his role as Foggy Nelson or Deborah Ann Woll will reprise her role as Karen Page.

With the way Season 3 concluded, it’s hard not to wonder if Wilson Bethel will reprise his role as Bullseye or if Ayelet Zura will reprise her role as Vanessa Fisk.

It doesn’t end there, though. Is it safe to assume that if Daredevil is renewed by Disney Plus, other Netflix shows like Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Punisher would be revived as well? Also, will the new Daredevil series resume up where the previous one left off or will it start from the beginning? Will it maintain its mature themes, or will it focus more on children to relate to the MCU more easily? So many questions, all of which will be addressed in due course.

Given that Disney has decided to bring the Marvel Netflix episodes to its streaming service, and given how popular Daredevil was on Netflix, it’s obviously in their best interests to avoid starting over or adopting an entirely different tone. There’s no reason to change something that isn’t broken, especially when the show’s third season ended on a cliffhanger. If they take a different route, it may enrage fans, who have been clamoring for the show to resume where it left off since 2018.

Marvel Studios has done an excellent job of maintaining fan interest by giving the audience exactly what they wanted. Marvel Studios provided them with the opportunity to bring together a group of heroes for a team-up. Marvel Studios gave them what they wanted when they wanted familiar characters from prior franchises to return for another film. When fans have expressed a desire to see Marvel Studios deliver their renditions of heroes previously underrepresented by other studios, Marvel Studios has and will continue to do so. Daredevil will be continued from where we last saw him on Netflix if Marvel Studios knows what’s good for them.
