The “Naomi Judd: A River of Time Celebration,” which aired on CMT, featured Brad Paisley, Emmylou Harris, Little Big Town, and other artists paying tribute to the late performer — and it also featured Judd’s daughters, Wynonna and Ashley Judd, sharing their love and paying respect to their mother’s legacy.
“Tonight (we’re) celebrating an icon and a legend who left country music better than she found it,” Ashley Judd told the crowd assembled at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium during the ceremony honoring the singer-songwriter who died two weeks ago.
Wynonna Judd, who sang with her mother as one half of the successful duo The Judds, followed her sister’s statements with a rendition of The Judds’ 1989 tune “River of Time.”
Other musicians then played their versions of Judd’s tunes.
Wynonna said that she’ll continue to perform the songs on the 11-city Judds tour she and her mother announced in April as the emotional funeral came to an end.
