Faith has recently been concentrating on mending fences with her son Cain (Jeff Hordley), who has continued to treat her coldly after years of animosity.
Faith abandoned Cain and his sister Chas (Lucy Pargeter) as children, leaving them in the care of their alcoholic father Shadrach (Andy Devine).
Years later, when the trio reunited and reconnected, Cain discovered that his mother had kept his adult son, Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter), a secret from him. Faith was expelled from the town in disgrace, and things between her and Cain have remained tense since her return last year.
Cain is angrier than ever with his mother after circumstances took a new turn the previous week.
Chas fails to support Faith throughout his barrage of abuse, ordering her to get lost instead.
When Faith is involved in a dramatic confrontation, the family feud becomes the least of her problems. She becomes angry when the bus does not arrive in the village when she urgently has to be there.
Faith picks a confrontation with a nearby Amelia Spencer (Daisy Campbell), who takes offense to whatever Faith says to her. That isn’t the end of the story, though.
Faith loses her cool and snatches one of Amelia’s dumbbells after pressing the self-destruct button. To the terror of those watching, she throws the weight through the glass of Dan’s (Liam Fox) door.
Moira, Faith’s daughter-in-law, is one of them, and she’s disgusted by the other woman’s behavior. But what exactly has prompted Faith’s odd behavior?
