Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar has called for the arrest of the murderers who killed and burnt a Sokoto student identified as Deborah Yakubu for blasphemy.

This is coming after it was reported that the deceased was murdered by her fellow students for allegedly insulting Prophet Muhammad.

Atiku who doubles as a presidential aspirant took to his social media accounts to condemn the killing which he refers to as a ‘gruesome’ one as he sends his condolences to the family of the deceased.

In his words, Atiku wrote;

 “There cannot be a justification for such gruesome murder. Deborah Yakubu was murdered, and all those behind her death must be brought to justice. My condolences to her family and friends.”
