Joey Votto is a newcomer to social media, but he’s already figuring out what it’s like to play Grandpa Simpson as he enters and exits the burlesque club when he spots Bart.
The Reds’ first baseman shared a TikTok video earlier this week in which he dressed up as Ron Weasley and danced with Doja Cat, who was also dressed up in a Harry Potter-inspired suit.
Votto’s TikTok can be interpreted in a variety of ways. Some people found it amusing or harmless, while others found it repulsive.
Votto appears to have been more affected by the negative feedback than by those who praised the Doja Cat dance, as he deleted the video from his TikTok account shortly after.
Votto, who is 38 years old, is in his 16th MLB season, all of which he has spent with the Reds. He has a career batting average of.302 with 331 home runs and a.936 OPS.

Doja Cat, 26, is a singer and rapper whose song “Kiss Me More,” which features SZA, was just awarded Best Pop Duo Performance at the Grammy Awards.
