Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel Filed For Divorce From His Wife Of 13 Years

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has reportedly divorced his wife of 13 years.

Tuchel’s wife Sissi is believed to have proceeded to divorce proceedings last week, yet the duo wants an amicable separation.

The manager’s wife moved to the United Kingdom last year August after Tuchel was appointed by Chelsea and stayed in a hotel before they bought a family home in Cobham, Surrey where Chelsea’s training ground is located.

“Sissi and Tuchel have tried to avoid separation but in the end, there was no other option,” a source confirmed. “It is very sad and now it is all about making sure their daughters are the top priority. Papers were lodged last week to get the divorce underway.”

Thomas and his wife got married in 2009 and have their two daughters together. Sissi was seen hugging her husband at the Estadio do Dragao in Porto last May after Chelsea won Manchester City in the Champions League final.

It is not been a great 24 hours for Thomas Tuchel as his club suffered a shocking 4-1 defeat at Stamford Bridge to west London rivals Brentford on Saturday afternoon with Christian Eriksen inspiring his side to a famous Premier League win.

“Nobody saw it coming, especially after going 1-0 ahead,” Tuchel said to BBC Sport after the full-time match. “It was very untypical of us. But we stopped defending. We were not aware of enough of the danger, were sloppy with the defending, and got punished.

“They made the most of it those 10 minutes. Right after their third goal, we had 10 minutes where we had big, big chances and we missed them. They were lucky and clinical enough to get three goals. We did not defend like it is needed to in the Premier League and got Punished.”

Saturday’s game hasn’t derailed Chelsea’s campaign, as the club remains third on the EPL table and eight points clear of Tottenham on fifth. Chelsea has already won two trophies this term which include the UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup and lost the EFL Cup final.

The Blues have reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup where they will face Crystal Palace at Wembley later this month and the quarter-finals of the Champions League. The defending champions will take on Real Madrid, with the first leg in London on Wednesday.

Thomas Tuchel has received praise in recent weeks for his handling of Chelsea’s ownership crisis. Chelsea is currently operating under a special license severely limiting its revenue streams after owner Roman Abramovich was sanctioned by the UK government.

Roman is alleged to have ties with Vladimir Putin, something he denies. Russia is currently waging a violent and unprovoked war in Ukraine. Chelsea is up for sale as a result of the crisis, with four parties closing in on a multi-billion-pound deal.
