Avril Lavigne, the original sk8r girl, is on her way to the altar.
Avril Lavigne, a Canadian singer, announced her engagement to fellow musician Mod Sun on Thursday. Sun proposed to Lavigne in Paris at the end of March.
Sun (real name: Derek Smith) posted photographs of the proposal to Instagram with the following poetic caption: “I knew you were the one the moment we met. We’ll be together until the end of our days.”
Sun met Lavigne while they were both working on her latest album, “Love Sux,” which continues Lavigne’s punk-pop sound. Within the first week of composing together, they “had a very powerful unstoppable connection,” according to the “Girlfriend” singer.
“I look forward to having fun, creating, working together, touring together and growing together,” Avril Lavigne said.
Lavigne has been married twice before, first to Sum 41’s Deryck Whibley and subsequently to Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger. Mod Sun was previously linked to Bella Thorne, a former Disney actress.
