Tragedy hit the entire Yoruba kingdom as Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi is announced dead at the age of 83.

The Alaafin gave up the ghost in the late hours of Friday (April 22, 2022) at the Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital located in Ado Ekiti.

The body of Oba Lamidi who ruled for 52 years, making him the longest-serving king in Oyo has been reportedly brought to Oyo on Saturday (April 23, 2022).

This is coming months after it was reported that two other powerful kings in Oyo state identified as the Soun of Ogbomoso, Jimoh Oyewumi, and the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Saliu Adetunji died.
