A private Nigerian airline company identified as Airpeace has officially announced that the airline company is currently experiencing delayed plans in traveling due to the scarcity of aviation fuel.
A source made a revealing statement about the difficulty of the Aviation sector that reads;
“Just to inform you guys what’s happening in Aviation. In January 2021, we bought aviation fuel at N190 per liter. At the end of the year, we were paying N360. Almost double. At the end of February 2022, just over a week ago, it was N415.Yesterday it was between N445and N460. Today it is N579 per liter in Lagos, N599 in Abuja andN607 in Kano. And that’s where you find it. We have 5 flights on ground Abuja waiting for fuel from anywhere. They are not selling it except you pay cash up front. Meanwhile the Minister of petroleum is in London. His wife is in Dubai! The aviation industry is likely to be grounded any moment now…”
Air Peace narrates its ordeal and apologizes to its passengers as they promise to provide an immediate solution about the delayed flight through a statement that reads;
“Air Peace and other Nigerian airlines, have, for a while now, been facing the challenge of jet fuel scarcity.
“We have pushed so far to minimise the effect of the situation on our esteemed passengers’ travel plans till date.
“But unfortunately, the fuel scarcity is starting to seriously impact our operations as we are likely going to experience flight disruptions today and in the coming days until the situation abates.
“We appeal for the utmost understanding of the flying public and regret possible inconveniences, while we work tirelessly to minimise the impact of the situation.”
