Nigerian musician and singer, Seun Kuti, who is also the son of Afrobeat pioneer, Fela Kuti has declared that those who own accounts in a bank won’t make heaven.

According to Seun Kuti, bank users are breaking the rules of the Bible which says “man must live by the day” yet, so called believers make plans for tomorrow.

The singer explained his point as he started by saying that as a believer which includes a Christian or Muslim, the first criteria for making heaven is believing that Jesus or Mohammed are coming back now not tomorrow.

He added that as a real believer who believes the people are coming now, how can such a person be saving for tomorrow.

In his full words, he said;

“The number one criteria of entering heaven is that you must believe that Jesus Christ and Mohammed are coming back now. Not tomorrow, not next tomorrow, not next year, not ten years time, but now!

“You must believe, if you don’t have that believe then you cannot say you are a Christian or a Muslim. That is a core belief in the tenet of this religion. So, if you believe that Jesus Christ is coming back now, how can you be saving for tomorrow?

“That means, if you believe Jesus Christ is coming tomorrow, you still don’t believe because you are planning for tomorrow. Your bank account is evidence of that. Once you have a bank account it means you don’t believe that Jesus Christ is coming now. Somewhere in your heart there is doubt, you are like me, and we are going to the same place.

“Don’t come and preach to me, live by the day. Abrahamic religions are religions of now. You cannot be planning for tomorrow when you claim to believe that Jesus Christ is coming now,”
