The speaker of the House of Reps, Femi Gbajabiamila, has demanded the removal of police checkpoints from Lagos and Abuja to the Southeastern part of the country.
According to the house, the new development was to aid the free flow of traffic on major roads where checkpoints are located this festive season due to the high rate of travelers.
The lawmaking body passed the immediate demand to the Inspector general of police and other security agencies in the country to take up their responsibilities diligently to curb the excess rate of traffic buildups.
