Over 150,000 residents in the state of Iowa are experiencing electricity blackouts after Wednesday’s severe weather.

It was reported that winds at speeds of over 60mph led to the loss of power connectivity in some areas of the state, with power stations saying some customers might have to stay 2 to 3 days before having access to electricity.

Reports say restoration services will commence once the strong winds begin to calm.
