Court sentenced a suspected fraudster identified as Brandon Ridge for Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) fraud worth $160,000.
It was reported that Brandon Ridge used the loan to acquire a brand new Range Rover before he was caught by the long arm of the law.
According to the attorney identified as Kurt R. Erskine who passed the judgment on Ridge’s case, he said;
“Ridge thought he could unjustly enrich himself by defrauding a program designed to support struggling businesses during an international pandemic”.
Furthermore, Brandon Ridge submitted two fake loan applications which led to his arrest and this was stated to have affected every tax-paying citizen as well as taking away government funds intended to provide relief to small businesses and employees who desperately need it during this pandemic.
The suspect was later sentenced to serve two years of detention and he is to forfeit his Range Rover and over $100,000 seized from his bank accounts after he pleaded guilty of bank fraud.
