The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has expressed its displeasure following the federal government’s failure in meeting its demands.
It was gathered that the union is planning another massive strike as the government has chosen to neglect their request, despite their previous warning and 3 weeks ultimatum.
ASUU’s National President, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke stated that the 3-weeks ultimatum ended on Sunday without an effort from the government to reach out to them.
He also said that the union will announce its next decision after meetings with its branches have been concluded.
In his words, he said;
“We have referred it to the branches. They are to meet within the week and then reply back before we take a final decision
“we had raised about six items and we want the government to implement them.
“There are many issues we raised which the government has not addressed and until they do that, we are ready to take action”.
