Former Sokoto Governor, Attahiru Bafarawa Quits Politics

Ex-Sokoto Gov., Attahiru Bafarawa

Ex-Governor of Sokoto State, Attahiru Bafarawa who governed the state from the year 1999-2007 quits politics for due reasons.

According to the former governor, he said;

“I don’t have the political will for politics now unlike before. Now, I don’t have that political will. I feel I have done my best based on the opportunity given to me and I am grateful for what God has done for me,”.

“Why would you serve eight years as governor of a state and then you come again and take one part of the state and say you are going to the National Assembly?

After serving for eight years, why don’t you allow others to go to the national assembly? As a former governor, the only thing you can look forward to is the presidency. Anything less than that is an abuse of privilege,”

Attahiru who served under the People Democratic Party (PDP) added that he won’t go for any elective position or appointment for the rest of his life but he will deem fit to always provide his advice where it is necessarily needed and called for.
