Cyber Crime: EFCC Arrests Suspected Internet Fraudster Over N88.1m Fraud

Suspected internet fraudster, Anusa Azeez

The Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) has arrested a suspected internet fraudster identified as Amusa Abiodun Azeez over #88.1m fraud.

He was charged to court where his charge reads;

“Amusa Abiodun Azeez, between the 24th of October 2021 to the 20th day of August 2021 in Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, retained the control of the sum of N88, 187,773.64 (Eighty-eight Million One Hundred and Eighty-seven Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy-three Naira Sixty-four Kobo) in your First Bank account number 3085787943, which you knew to be proceeds of various internet and cyber-crimes.”

He was reportedly posing as an American soldier serving in Afghanistan which made it easier for him to dupe his victim.

The suspect then pleaded ‘ not guilty ‘ of the charges and his case was adjourned by the court but he is to remain in the custody of the EFCC.
