The Global Handwashing Day, set on October 21 of every year, is a day set aside to create awareness of the importance of handwashing.
Activities that surround the Global handwashing day usually revolve around educating people on the importance of keeping clean hands and how to properly wash their hands effectively to ensure germs around the area are taken off.
This year’s Global Handwashing Day 2021, themed “Our Future is at Hand – Let’s Move Forward Together,” is centered on educating people on the significance of washing or sanitizing their hands regularly, but not only to kill off germs and other bacterias but also to curb the spread of Covid-19, which could be spread through handshakes.
The Global hand-washing day not only encourages people to always keep their hands clean by constantly washing or sanitizing, but to also be an agent of providing such cleaning services. For example, businesses are encouraged to ensure the availability of running water, while individuals are encouraged to carry a pocket hand-sanitizer, which can be shared.
