Oleksandr Usyk earned an unanimous victory over Anthony Joshua to win the World Heavyweight titles on Saturday.
Usyk was on top of his game through out the bout and Anthony Joshua was second best.
Usyk recorded 117-112, 116-112, and 115-113 on the score sheets of the three judges in charge of the bout to extend his record to 19 wins as a professional.
“This means a lot for me. The fight went the way I expected it to go. There were moments when Anthony pushed me hard but it was nothing special,” said Usyk.
“I had no objective to knock him out because my corner pushed me not to do that. In the beginning, I tried to hit him hard, but then I stuck to my job.”
Usyk is set to defend his WBC title against Deontay Wilder in Las Vegas next month.
