Super Eagles continued their impressive start to the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers with a 2-1 win over Cape Verde in Mindelo.

Nigeria had earlier defeated Liberia 2-0 at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos on Friday.

The team missed eight of their players due to the UK restrictions on players travelling to red listed countries.

The hosts took the lead in the 18th minute when Dylan Tavares opened the scoring against the run of play.

Osimhen restored parity for Nigeria few minutes later.

Cape Verde defender Kenny Rocha diverted into his own net to give the Super Eagles the maximum points.

Nigeria now lead the group with 6 points from two games, followed by Liberia with three points and Cape Verde and CAR have one point each.

Ahmed Musa also made his 100th appearance for Nigeria in the match.
