Texas, USA, is currenty on a seige as hurricane Nicholas continues to wreck havoc after bringing down about nine inches of rain, with authorities fearing for series of flash floods.
Greg Abbott, Governor of Texas, has declared a state of emergency, while flights were cancelled as the economy stands frozen. Thousands of power outages have also been reported and high risk roads have been codoned off.
The government has responded with its disaster recovery and rescue assets as eight high-water vehicles, 23 boats and 15 aircraft from the National Guard as well as over 8,200 National Guard members, including 2,000 from other states have been set up.
