Following the attack on Sunday Igboho’s home by Department of State Services, DSS on July 1 which led to the death of two aides of the Yoruba activist and the arrest of other members of his team.
An Oyo State court has ruled that DSS should pay Sunday Igboho N20 billion as damages.
It should be recalled that Sunday Igboho has sued the Federal Government N500billion after the attack at his Ibadan home.
According to Igboho’s Pelumi Olajengbesi, the judgement has restored confidence.
“This is succour and an assurance that Nigerians can return to court to seek justice.
With this judgement, the system has built confidence.”
He added that, “This is also a strong warning to DSS that they are not bigger than the law.
“It is a signal that it is not good to take laws into their hands and jeopardise the interest of citizens.
