According to the Haitian police, the detained Columbian mercenaries held they were only hired to capture the Haitian President, Jovenel Moise, and deliver him to the United States of America Drug Enforcement Administration.
According to their confessions, two Haitians and 26 Columbians took part in the ill-fated operation. It was, however, unknown to most of them that the actual plan of the operation, which was done by a smaller subset, was to kill the Haitian president.
