The National President of onion producers, Aliyu Isa Umar, has ordered the suspension of the supply of onions to the southern part of Nigeria by 7th June and no further offloading of any truck carrying onions from the 10th of June, 2021!
The reason for the suspension of sales or supply of onions to the south was because the Government has failed in its promise to compensate members who lost a total of four million Naira during the Endsars crisis in Abia, Imo & Oyo states as well as Shasha market crisis.
“The promise has not been kept and the members have lost over N4 billion. We are calling on the State and Federal Government to restore law and order in the state, and we are calling on the good people of the southern part of Nigeria to live with the Hausa community in peace as we are only there for our lawful businesses.
