How 6 Northernern Nigerians were convicted of funding Bokoharam in UAE


Six Nigerians from the northern part of the country have been convicted by a court in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for facilitating the funding of Boko Haram terrorism. They were involved in the transfer of about $782,000 between 2015 and 2016. The terrorists were initially arrested, tried and convicted in 2019. They then took the case to the Abu Dhabi Federal Court of Appeal, where they lost again.


Here are the names of the convicts and the number of jail terms bagged;

  1. Surajo Abubakar Muhammad- Life imprisonment
  2. Saleh Yusuf Adamu- Life imprisonment
  3. Ibrahim Ali Alhassan- 10 years imprisonment
  4. AbdurRahman Ado Musa- 10 years imprisonment
  5. Bashir Ali Yusuf- 10 years imprisonment
  6. Muhammad Ibrahim Isa- 10 years imprisonment


In defense, the families of the convicts insist that they were framed up, stating that they are businessmen dealing in legitimate bureau de change activities.
